Breathe.

Breathing is the foundation of life.

Breathing influences every system and function within the body. Understanding how to breathe well... as strange as that seems, can have positive affects throughout your body. Guided meditation and breathwork can calm and relax your mind and it can assist in managing, anxiety, anger and a deeper, better sleep.

There is a very profound chemical aspect to the healing gained from conscious breathing as it improves the biochemical states of the body.  Building carbon dioxide tolerance and improving oxygen uptake improves our metabolic process at the mitochondrial level, which in turn, improves every process of health.

Breathing also regulates inflammation through the stimulation of our vagus nerve. Combine this with mindful meditation and the ice bath, we can have positive affects in the body.

Our bodies and minds can be influenced, trained, strengthened with conscious breathing.

Connection & Community.

Sometimes this involves simply doing fun things together like going out for a walk or sharing a meal. But sometimes, it’s good to come together and do hard things with like-minded people.

We realise that we are not alone and have the support of others. In doing so, everyone will push each other to go further than they could alone. Participants encouraging each other during the activities and ice baths – doesn’t just increase connection, but also prompts neurochemical changes in the brain. Through this human connection, our body produces oxytocin... the ‘feel good’ hormone.

Ice Baths.

The ice bath is a yard stick for life...when you jump into an ice bath and you learn to breathe and deeply connect to your body this can assist you in managing stressful situations in everyday life. Ice baths make you feel alive!

The physiological benefits of ice baths – stimulating a shift from a sympathetic to parasympathetic state, increasing blood flow, increase testostorone, burn calories, increase white cell count, improve sleep and reduce inflamation.

These are significant benefits, they’re not the be all and end all, of cold exposure. We also need to look at the extensive psychological benefits. Assisting people to manage their initial response to the ice bath is crucial. Often our first  impulse is to get out! Doing this can set a precedent for failure. Instead, we want to empower people to experience success that will encourage them and ‘Light the Fire Within’.

We need to stop over-emotional and irrational thinking that can easily take hold during taxing situations, and tap into our own power within.

“Disconnection is ripe today, this has shown me the path to being more human.”

What Russ said…

“48 hours with these guys was one of the most moving experience’s
I have ever had. Finding connection with myself and a contentment
with life I had lost from my childhood. To be in a place and feel safe
enough to be open and honest to see the real power within, without
judgement was incredible”.

“I loved it so much last time, so I’ve come back. It’s a happy place for me.
It wasn’t about the ice bath, it’s about community and feeling good.

What Jack said…

“My definition of being a ‘man’ has definitely changed and I am truely grateful
for the 3 days. Since coming home my days have been peaceful. I have light,
I have reasons to get out of bed in the morning, and reasons to want to go to work. Plenty of breathing and stillness, being present to nature and the
moment, stopping and listening”.

As seen on…
